“A Weekend with Vassena” on the occasion of the exhibition at the square of Malgrate (Lecco) from the title “The man Walking on the Waters. Pietro Vassena, the C3 and the Myth of the Inventor”.
The collateral events dedicated to Pietro Vassena continue, coinciding with the exhibition “The Man Walking on the Water. Pietro Vassena, the C3 and the myth of the inventor” open to the “Quadreria Bovara Reina” in via San Dionigi 8 in Malgrate, Lecco. Exhibition commissioned by the City of Malgrate with the Hidden Light Association and the Vassena Family, in the year of the 70th anniversary of the diving world record made by the Malgratese inventor Pietro Vassena, with his CIS bathyscaphe, off Argegno, on Lake Como, in 1948 at -412 meters.
In fact in the next weekend, that of the 9th – 10th June, a rich calendar of initiatives will be proposed in the context of “A weekend with Vassena”. Starting from Saturday 9 June at 7.30 pm at the Lecco Club Rowing Club premises with an appointment entitled “Canottieri Lecco, the second house of Vassena and its C3”. An evening amarcord with debate and projection of images, including vintage, conducted by Marco Cariboni and Marco Corti.

The next day, Sunday 10 June, meeting from 10.00 am on the lakefront of Malgrate (area for cars) with “The bikes at the time of Vassena”, open air appointment with the motorcycles of the period and free guided tour of the exhibition.
In the evening, at 9:00pm, always on the lakefront of Malgrate, in the area of the fountain on the lake, the show “A clock that anticipates: the story of Pietro Vassena”. It is an evocative theatrical and musical tale about life and inventions of Vassena, in the spectacular setting of the fountain and with the background of the city of Lecco: the actor, Marco Creuso, will “walk” on the waters accompanying us step by step in history. Subject and direction by Marco Creuso with original music by Fabio Agnesina and Fabrizio Ratti. In case of bad weather the performance will be postponed to Sunday, June 24 at 9:00pm.
Recall also that the exhibition “The Man who walked on the water. Pietro Vassena, the C3 and the myth of the inventor “will remain open until Sunday, July 22nd. Admission, free of charge, will be possible on Thursday evening, from 9:00pm to 11:00pm (Thursday 7 June guided tour with Marco Short); Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 7:00pm. For organized groups, with guided tours or educational activities, it will be possible, by booking, also access on Wednesday morning. Guided tours in English are also provided by Dominica Cecot on June 16th and July 14th starting at 5.30pm.
