The Benvenuto Club has organized a guided tour of the National Braidense Library on Thursday, October 5th from 11.00 am till 12.00 pm.
This library was created by the Empress Maria Theresa of Austra as a public library in 1770 and is located in the Palazzo di Brera, in the same building of the Brera Art Gallery, Astronomical Obsertavory and Botanical Gardens.
This is one of the largest libraries in Italy, with bookshelves designed by the architect Giuseppe Piermarini and more than 35,000 books, in addition to manus, letters and art pieces.
Its reading rooms are still in use, anyone can go there as long as they are more than 16 years old and they register.
