Francesca Rava Foundation Celebrates 25 Years of Impact with Sold-Out Evening at Teatro alla Scala in Milan

On the evening of June 4, 2025, Milan’s iconic Teatro alla Scala was filled to capacity in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Francesca Rava Foundation – NPH Italia ETS. The milestone celebration brought together supporters, cultural leaders, and civic figures to recognize a quarter-century of unwavering dedication to vulnerable children and families in Italy and around the world.

Mariavittoria Rava, President of the Francesca Rava Foundation

At the heart of this mission stands Mariavittoria Rava, founder and president of the foundation, whose tireless advocacy has guided its growth and impact across continents. Her vision has been instrumental in transforming the lives of countless children through education, healthcare, and emergency assistance.

The evening’s centerpiece was the powerful stage performance Tucidide. Atene contro Melo, a thought-provoking reflection on power, ethics, and justice—timeless themes that echo the values at the heart of the foundation’s humanitarian mission. Conceived and narrated by acclaimed writer and director Alessandro Baricco, the production featured actresses Stefania Rocca and Valeria Solarino, with music by the celebrated ensemble 100 Cellos under the direction of Enrico Melozzi and soloist Giovanni Sollima.

The emotional intensity of the performance and its themes of moral responsibility mirrored the work of the Francesca Rava Foundation, which has spent 25 years advocating for those whose voices are often unheard—from disadvantaged youth in Italian cities to children in hospitals and orphanages across Latin America.

Among the distinguished guests were Senator Liliana Segre, Matteo Perego di Cremnago – Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Defense, Admiral Enrico Credendino – Chief of Staff of the Navy, Attilio Fontana – President of the Lombardy Region, Anna Scavuzzo – Deputy Mayor of Milan, Maria Carla Gatto – President of the Juvenile Court of Milan and celebrity Chef Davide Oldani. The audience responded with standing ovations and heartfelt enthusiasm, underscoring the public’s deep connection to the foundation’s cause.

Founded in memory of Francesca Rava, the organization has grown into a trusted force in child welfare, medical aid, and emergency response. Its wide-reaching programs offer hope and tangible support where it’s most needed—turning compassion into action.

As the curtain fell on an unforgettable night at La Scala, the message was clear: the work is not finished. The Francesca Rava Foundation invites all those who believe in building a more caring world to join their mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every gesture helps illuminate the path forward.
