ICS Milan is an international school in Milan offering an educational pathway for students from age 1 to 18 across three city campuses. International Education from Nursery to High School

ICS Milan’s curriculum follows a progression of international frameworks and qualifications:

Nursery, ages 1–3: British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with a play-based approach to early development.

Preschool to Year 6, ages 3–11: ICS Milan is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The programme is inquiry-led and transdisciplinary, with Italian language and culture integrated into the curriculum.

Years 7–9, ages 11–14: Students follow the authorised IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), developing subject knowledge alongside critical thinking, communication, research and intercultural understanding.

Years 10–11, ages 14–16: Students work towards the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

Years 12–13, ages 17–18: ICS Milan is an authorised IB World School for the Diploma Programme (DP), providing an internationally recognised pre-university qualification.

ICS Milan is also a recognised paritaria school accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education. This supports an educational pathway that brings together international learning with Italian national standards and options.

Experiential Learning, STEAM and Design

A defining part of the school’s approach is experiential learning: students are encouraged to connect classroom subjects with practical investigation, projects and real-world questions. STEAM education brings Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics together rather than treating them only as separate disciplines.

Project-based learning, design thinking, Design Labs and LEGO® Education resources are among the ways the school develops collaboration, creativity, problem-solving and inquiry. International Education with Italian Pathways

ICS Milan provides international education in English while allowing students to retain and develop their cultural and linguistic identities. As a recognised paritaria school, its curriculum combines international programmes with Italian national education standards, with Italian language and culture integrated into the learning experience.

This approach allows fluent Italian-speaking students to maintain the option of sitting Italian Ministry of Education examinations as part of their educational pathway, while international students benefit from an English-medium learning environment and internationally recognised programmes.

Admissions and School Visits at ICS Milan

Families interested in ICS Milan can begin the admissions process by contacting the school by telephone or through the online admissions form. The admissions team will then arrange a visit to the relevant campus, giving families the opportunity to discuss their child’s educational needs and learn more about the school’s international curriculum and approach.

Depending on the student’s age and year group, the admissions process may include a review of previous school reports, an individual interview and an assessment. From Year 5, Primary School applicants may be asked to complete a CAT4 assessment, while Secondary School applicants are assessed through previous school reports, a CAT4 assessment and a personal interview.

Families can also experience ICS Milan in person through Open Days, Open Weeks and individual school visits at the Colletta, Tenca and Symbiosis campuses. Online meetings are also available for families who are unable to visit Milan in person.
