All ASM teachers are trained in Responsive Classroom practices, which encourage a good school climate and guide social skills development through the elementary school counselor’s PATHS Curriculum. The UbD framework is used to create Social Studies Units of Inquiry that allow students to investigate local and global issues. ASM’s freshly created Science Units of Inquiry are based on Next Generation Science Standards and include a weekly STEM lab with the elementary Science specialist. The core curriculum comprises Italian for native speakers and second-language learners. ASM helps K-5 students with mild to moderate learning challenges and teaches English as a second language (ELL). The ASM technology integration specialist integrates laptops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards into classroom instruction to prepare pupils for today’s interconnected society.
