Theresa Morelli – Teacher, English Teacher and Phonics Teacher

Theresa is a natural-born teacher, lover of learning, ‘people person’ and a university educated, professionally trained, experienced, English mother-tongue teacher from the USA. Theresa majored in Education, the K-12 Program, kindergarten-12th grade diploma (asilo-diploma di maturita’), all subjects, and minored in Psychology. Theresa has always been a member of the British Council, a member of the British Council’s Public School Teachers and a Jolly Phonics Teacher. She adores children, and effortlessly connects with her students inspiring them to engage and grow linguistically, usually to the top of their class. Theresa also relishes instructing, coaching, and empowering her adult students toward greater personal and occupational success and achievements. She has been successfully working in Milan teaching beginner students with no English skills, up through the knowledge spectrum to adult students with advanced English skills. Theresa’s students have ranged in age from two-and-a-half-years-old to university age, and from young professionals to retired consultants in a variety of business fields.

Experience, Qualifications and Credentials

Theresa’s history in education includes teaching at nursery school, elementary school, an accredited Fashion and Merchandising College in the United States, and English, phonics and math for both after-school programs and private lessons in Milan. Her expertise encompasses creating original, captivating, interactive English and phonic lesson plans with complementary learning projects, games and exercises, to designing a cutting-edge college curriculum and unique, innovative syllabus for three college courses with teenage and adult students in a U.S. accredited fashion college. She is responsible for doubling enrollment in her nursery school classes and increasing the Fashion and Merchandising College course enrollment 1,188%. The latter prompted an offer from the college to buy Theresa’s curriculum, have her train the teaching faculty, and be video-taped as she taught her lessons.

In Milan, Theresa has taught the complete English Courses of Jolly Phonics; Cambridge English “Starters”, “Movers”, and “Flyers”; KET, PET, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 and effectively prepared students for their exams to earn their English certificates. Additionally, Theresa has taught and prepared students for entrance exams into Milan’s prestigious private elementary, middle, and high schools at a 100% success rate. For her adult students, she also includes presentation creation, assists with client communications, startups, and has encouraged and supported students to become entrepreneurs and start their own law firms.
