FAI Spring Days
FAI Spring Days is an event organized by the Fondo Ambiente Italiano dedicated to the cultural and landscape heritage of Italy, with free visits to 750 special places in 400 cities, from large capitals to small municipalities, from historic centers to provinces, from the north to the south of the peninsula.
The FAI Spring Days are considered one of the most significant events for learning about Italian cultural and landscape heritage. The FAI spring days show the participants the ways in which man and nature coalesce. As Italy is the perfect amalgamation of historical architecture and natural scenery, one of their goals is to communicate how we can coexist with nature without its destruction through Italy’s successful terrain. This event, which typically takes place during the spring, is an exclusive opportunity to discover a lesser-known Italy, of usually inaccessible places, from large cities to villages, from real monuments to curious and unpublished places, which nevertheless equally tell the story of the very rich and multifaceted culture of this country.

Not only does it offer participants to explore Italian heritage, but also gives students a chance to tell their own story, as among the guides, FAI supports the Ciceroni Apprentices, who are young students trained in cultural sites. Through this approach, visitors get a well rounded and diverse understanding of this land as people of all ages and places recount the story of Italy. FAI’s mission is to protect their heritage by sharing it, they believe that this rich landscape belongs to everyone and shouldn’t be confined to an elite few.
In addition to being a scenic tour, it is also a fundraising event for the Trust. If you are interested in supporting FAI’s mission, then visitors are urged to donate a minimum of €3 or join as a member to enjoy exclusive benefits. Once you become a member of the Trust, you will be able to access private viewings of historical artifacts and museums across Italy during the Spring Days and will also receive priority entrance. You can choose from any of their annual membership plans here.
Visitors can participate in guided tours, exhibitions, workshops, and other cultural activities organized at participating sites. If you would like a taste of what the FAI Spring Days are about, be sure to watch the video.
