British Embassy Recommendations for Citizens Abroad

British Embassy Recommendations for Citizens Abroad

Following the most recent Embassy Town Hall meetings with British Nationals in Italy, this is a reminder of our advice and guidance. We recommend UK Nationals should apply for residency and healthcare.

Make sure you are registered with your local comune, and with your ASL for healthcare, exchange your driving licence, ensure that you request recognition of any UK professional qualifications you might hold, and check that you have at least 6 months validity on your passport.

We will continue to keep you informed via our social media channels and the Living in Italy guide (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-italy). Please make sure you are signed up for email alerts (https://www.gov.uk/email-signup/?topic=/world/living-in-italy) on the Living in Italy guide and follow us on social media. We continue to host our town hall events for UK nationals (most recently in Milan, Montebello di Bertona and Bologna) with future events planned in Macerata, Perugia, Verona and Brescia.
