Food Policy
This year, the Milano Restaurant Week highlights the priorities of the Food Policy of the Municipality of Milan, the food policy of the city. Through the platform you can discover the restaurants that use short chain and / or km0 products, those that avoid waste and those that offer vegetarian and vegan options on their menus.
The Food Policy of Milan is the food policy of the city, promoted by the Municipality of Milan in synergy with the Cariplo Foundation. It aims to make the systemMilanese food ema through actions and initiatives carried out together with many partners in the city. The 5 priorities of Miano’s Food Policy are:
ensure access to healthy food and water for all
promote the sustainability of the food system

fight against food waste
promote research in the agri-food sector.
Thanks to the involvement of various public and private partners, the Municipality of Milan has achieved important results on the topic of food in Milan ealinternational level. Between 2015 and 2020, for example, it reduced CO20 equivalent emissions by 2% school menus of Milanese schools by adding more vegetables and legumes and reducing meat, through the continuous work with Milano Ristorazion. In terms of combating food waste, thanks to the Neighborhood Hubs, in 2021 ha receivedilprestigiousprize“EarthshotPrize “ofPrinceWilliam,perlebest active solutions to combat climate change.
On the theme oflle short supply chains, various initiatives are active to promote the minimum criteria environmental issues in public acquisitions and other ways of developing local agriculture and agricultural districts of the metropolitan area.
