Dr. Catherine DeFuria – American Prosthodontist and Dental Health Specialist

Dr. Catherine DeFuria comes to Milano with a wealth of experience and expertise in dentistry.  She is a prosthodontist and specializes in cosmetic, reconstructive and restorative dentistry. In 2012, she obtained her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, D.M.D degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). She continued her studies with three additional years of training and received a degree and specialty in the field of Prosthodontics. In 2017, she successfully challenged the American Board of Prosthodontics and became a diplomat. She is passionate about providing top-notch and comprehensive care and shares her commitment to creating healthy smiles that last a lifetime.  

As an American Expat, living and working in Milan since 2017, she has faced many of the struggles and challenges that being far from home can bring. She also understands the obstacles and anxiety that a patient holds going to the dentist. All the while you are dealing with these issues in an unfamiliar place with an unfamiliar healthcare system makes it even more difficult. Dr. DeFuria received her recognition from the Ministero della Salute in 2019 to be able to practice dentistry in Italy and is now committed to your oral health needs.

She is here to bridge the gap and to try and lessen the stresses of those difficulties.  As an American trained specialist, she brings comprehensive treatment with each step explained along the way to keep you in-the-know and to educate you about your oral health. Communication and consistency are important to Dr. DeFuria and she is committed to keeping your oral health on track and communicating with your doctors and dentists here or across the sea.

Dr. DeFuria is focused on providing a gentle, collaborative, evidence-based approach to her patients’ needs and wants.  She believes in providing patients with all the information they need to prevent disease and promote oral health because everyone smiles in the same language.
